Terms of Service

CheckHost provides website, server, and API uptime monitoring services, including but not limited to: HTTP/HTTPS monitoring, ping monitoring, TCP/UDP port checking, DNS monitoring, SSL certificate monitoring, status pages, incident management, on-call scheduling, and network diagnostic tools (ping, traceroute, WHOIS, DNS lookup).

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

CheckHost offers the following plans:

Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice. Annual billing offers a 30% discount.

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the next billing cycle
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard billing settings
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no prorated refunds
• Failed payments will result in a grace period, after which your account may be downgraded to Free
• All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated

You agree NOT to use CheckHost to:

• Conduct denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks or stress testing against targets
• Monitor targets you do not own or have authorization to monitor
• Scrape, harvest, or extract data from our Service for commercial purposes
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or plan restrictions
• Use automated tools to create multiple free accounts
• Interfere with the operation of our Service or other users' experience
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Send spam or unsolicited communications through our alert channels

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.

CheckHost provides free network diagnostic tools (ping, DNS, HTTP check, traceroute, WHOIS, etc.) that can be used without an account. These tools are provided "as is" and may be subject to rate limiting. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue free tools at any time.

We strive to provide high availability for our monitoring services but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Our Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

While we monitor from 40+ global locations and provide alert speeds under 1 second, these are best-effort capabilities and not guaranteed SLA terms unless covered by a separate enterprise agreement.

The CheckHost name, logo, website design, and code are the intellectual property of Netvolo Provence. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our Service without written permission.

You retain all rights to the data you submit to CheckHost (monitor configurations, status page content, etc.). We do not claim ownership of your data.

Your use of CheckHost is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using our Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CheckHost and Netvolo Provence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of revenue or profits resulting from downtime of your services
• Damages resulting from delayed or missed alert notifications
• Data loss or corruption
• Service interruptions or unavailability

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

By you: You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay for a paid plan, or if we discontinue the Service. We will provide reasonable notice when possible.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CheckHost and Netvolo Provence from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Aix-en-Provence, France.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
